June Update Late
Trying to keep a website current is pretty difficult. You start out all gung-ho and play with all of the new knowledge you have acquired just to get the silly thing up and running, but the updates tend to come after wider intervals and you wonder if what you were trying to express in the first place is even of enough interest to yourself that you can keep on going. I think the problem is just that there are so many other things happening in our lives.
Since my last post I have bumped up my working hours outside of the house. Since last summer I’ve been employed on a part-time basis by the City of Ottawa as a Gallery Interpreter. A couple of months back I also took on the job of Gallery Coordinator for the east end galleries run by the City. This is also a part-time position, but requires a fair bit of flexibility in hours of work. So, between the two part-time positions, I’ve almost got a full-time job. Whatever the description, though, I enjoy what I’m doing.
So, extra hours at work have nibbled into my ability to add data to this space.
Arts Ottawa East , not to be confused with Arteast, is holding a show that takes up both galleries at 255 Centrum Blvd in Orleans. I’m lucky enough to have 3 paintings in this annual event.
“Predator” is still at Rothwell Hauk Gallery, where I just took some drawings — for the first time — to be framed.
I’m considering doing a podcast that would be available from this site. I have a name picked out already and know exactly what I want to do. I’ll have to shave time away from something to do it. Sleep has never been one of my favourite activities … well, sometimes it is, actually … I don’ t know. I’d make the time to do it somehow.
