As previously mentioned, Arteast is having a group show at the Gloucester Gallery (main floor, 255 Centrum) until October 2. I neglected to mention that Carol Rowland-Ulmann is also holding an exhibition of her deceptively simple prints upstairs, in the Cumberland Gallery, during the same time frame. Carol manages to say a lot with very few visual “words”.
The openings for both of these shows will be this Sunday, September 9, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Stop by to meet the artists from both exhibits. Everyone’s welcome and admission is always free.
Don’t forget to take a peek at the Gloucester Pottery School display case in the main floor lobby. This display of hand-made works by instructors and students of GPS changes when the gallery exhibits change over. The work of Carol Braithwaite is on display right now and it looks like our staff may end up buying everything in the case, so get down there fast!
If you’re interested in purchasing artwork from either a gallery show or the GPS display, this could be the only exhibition space in town that does not charge a commission to the artist.
